Remember that Raekwon x Method Man x Ghostface album that we let you know was in talks of being made someday? Yeah, it’s dropping December 22nd. To promote the album, Best of Both Offices and Three/21 Media have teamed up to put out a video series entitled “The Wu Masacre.” The trailers are inspired by the classic David Fincher flick, Seven. Watch part 1 of 3 above.
Word on the official street says that these are set to hit retailers on November 1st. We’ve been looking forward to these for quite sometime now, and will be a customer. People see it straight up as a Gucci color way, and that is true, but it was not meant to be that way. It was actually for drugs. Weed, to be exact. The green is for the green, while black and red deal with the fire and smoke used during the process. Either way we like them, and can’t wait. Black denim, green leather, red sole and laces equals heat.
Duckdown’s showcase at the Blender theatre this past Saturday helped to close out CMJ week in NYC (stay tuned for the OkayAfrica recap). The homie Meka put together this vid to give a recap of the show. Watch above for performances from Torae & Marco Polo, Masta Ace & EDO. G, Skyzoo, Blue Scholars, Kidz In The Hall, Heltah Skeltah, Smif-N-Wessun, Black Moon, and Pharoahe Monch.
The RZA continues to promote his new book, The Tao of Wu, with this interview with Tavis Smiley. They start out by discussing the impact and the etymology of Wu-Tang, then go on to discuss ODB’s passing, RZA’s many aliases, and the book, The Tao of Wu. With the weekend coming up, I’d suggest giving the book a read: it’s short, but powerful.
Here’s a look at more of Nike SB’s November lineup, which is shaping up to be one of their strongest months in some time. The Blazer SB gets the St. Louis Cardinals treatment with red suede and a yellow swoosh. The Zoom Air Harbor gets another nice color up with a greyscale suede mix, while the popular Stefan Janoski is back in a navy perf leather with brown leather laces. The boat shoe semblance was always there, but this is the most true-to-form yet.
Jeremy Scott continues his adidas Originals program for Fall/Winter 2009. The latest drop consists of two new Wings High colorways – metallic silver and all-black – as well as the new Conductor High we featured over the summer, also in all-black.
To promote the upcoming movie “Armored”, famed artist Mister Cartoon took an armored truck and completely did his thing on it. The outside features a totally custom paint job from the man himself and had the inside set up like a jail cell, with bars , a sink and walls decorated with jail authentics such as centerfolds and graffiti. Three hots and a cot is unknown.
