Inspired by a recent visit to his home country Trinidad for Carnival 2014, A$AP Ferg offers up a release titled “Petit Valley.” Named after the beautiful hills of Diego Martin, the track finds the A$AP Mob rapper letting loose on a freestyle, flaunting his poignant falsetto over the instrumental of Bunji Garlin’s “Carnival Tabanca.” In departure from the gritty productions seen in his Trap Lord LP, Ferg provides an uplifting rendition, speaking of a girl he met in the hills in addition to paying homage to his Trinidian roots and the A$AP family. Enjoy “Petit Valley” below.
German filmmaker, Marten Persiel’s film, “This Ain’t California” is a hybrid documentary about the history of East German skating during the Soviet Era. It looks like a great flick even if it isn’t a documentary in its truest form.
Kendrick Lamar and Alicia Keys team up with Pharrell for “Its On Again,” the super-trio’s contribution to the P scored Spiderman 2 OST. The string-laced rocker commences with some ferocious wordplay from K. Dot, opening up into a nu-disco flame with Alicia taking the reigns of the track’s soaring hook. The titanic hit-maker du jour continues his year of outright supremacy by tapping into his inner Henry Mancini and putting together this dance floor bleeder with Hip-Hop and r&b’s own titans, adding yet another star-studded notch to his burly belt. It don’t stop!

Ishod Wair‘s celebration of his recent “Skater of the Year” achievement continues in the latest video offering from Thrasher Magazine. Split into two parts, this episode finds Cory Kennedy and Eric Koston stealing the show with an array of goofily-executed tech maneuvers, while Justin Brock gets rather buck on a long stone ledge. After wrapping up business in Miami, the team met with Jake Phelps and voyaged to the Cayman Islands, extending their trip to a not-so-mellow concrete transition park. Grant Taylor put on a one-man demo at the park, while CK1 experimented with some interesting footwear. A full 11 minutes worth of good times, enjoy the second part of “S.O.T.Y. Naawwsty” above.

Towering over downtown Manhattan at 1,776 ft, 1 World Trade Center, alternatively dubbed the Freedom Tower, is a rather imposing structure that crowns the skyline from any perspective. As much of a neck-breaker the building is to look up at though, the view from the top is unnerving, to say the least. Throwing caution to the wind, James Brady, Andrew Rossig, and Marco Markovich B.A.S.E. jumped off of the building’s roof last September, filming the experience with a set of GoPro cameras. The trio of daredevils has finally unveiled the video footage of its exploits, delivering a breathtaking account of the dive. While the video is certainly something to marvel, it seems the authorities were less than impressed; Rossig, Brady, and Markovich, along with their lookout Kyle Hartwell, were all arrested on counts of reckless endangerment, burglary, and jumping from a structure.

Philly’s Asaad returns from sabbatical to resume his discourse on the often unheard and overlooked, teaming with Ab-Soul for an ode to an oddball filmmaker and comic writer with their stellar “Alejandro Jodorowsky Flow.” We haven’t heard much from Assad since his hard-hitting New Black History Month II tape about a year ago, but the ferocity of his flow shows he hasn’t lost a step on this wavy down-trot head-bopper, leaving room for the LA alien to take it over and out. The track comes to us from Asaad’s forthcoming Flowers II tape, which drops this Thursday. Check back as we’ll have more for you on the Philly MC soon.

The latest rising star to step up to the plate for team TDE, SZA’s latest follows the recent release of her emotionally complex self-directed clip for “Babylon.” “Child’s Play” is no less weighty, with an ethereal vocal from SZA that floats above the slow burning track produced by XXYYXX and Dae One. Chance The Rapper rounds things out with a flow that rises and falls with an incongruous rhythm and improvisational freedom that compliments her laid back approach. Check the track below to listen to “Child’s Play” from SZA. Stay tuned for more from the forthcoming Z EP.

Including faded black leather overlays, tonal orange logos, a white midsole and a gum bottom, this model comes together very nicely.
