Late Wednesday night saw the surprise release of Carmack’s long anticipated White EP, a four track offering that features flips of Groove Armada and Goldlink. Also helping out are B. Real, Demrick, Enur, Juyen Sebulba and Omulu, all of whom use the producers vibrant and unpredictable sonic springboards as a kind of turbo boost for their own rhymes. Stream the entire EP above.
Goldlink‘s fanbase received a nice surprise last night in the form of a new track off his upcoming debut LP And After That, We Didn’t Talk. The Soulection MC collaborates with Anderson Paak on “Unique,” a cut that packs more live funk bass than you ever thought possible. Produced by Louie Lastic, the cut allows Goldlink’s local DMV heritage, particularly the synthesized strut of go-go–to do its own damn thing, and with Paak’s vocals icing over the midsection, “Unique” quickly lives up to its name. If you’re digging it, Goldlink’s upcoming LP is waiting to be pre-ordered on iTunes. Listen to “Unique” above, and check out the MC’s fall/winter tour itinerary below.
If you haven’t been hip to iLLingsworth’s expansive catalogue over the years, we’re happy to provide the necessary and proper introduction in the world premiere of his debut full-length piece Worth The Wait. iLLingsworth is a worthy and well versed disciple, building on Dilla’s legacy and beat-making bloodline with an infusion of syrupy soul, tight snares and claps and low-ends that thump supreme, all making for an intoxicating blend. iLLingsworth may not be a name on your radar just yet, but with this 20-track release, you’ll quickly catch the vibe. Kisten above, and consider the torch passed.
Skeme is all about the “Cake” on his new Ingleworld 3 single produced by The Fam. Pre-order the project now ahead of its November 13th release.
Nashville twin brothers and production duo, Two Fresh, just dropped their new six-track EP, Torch, today via Mad Decent. The features on the project include, Joey Purp, Vic Mensa, Jace and Curtis Williams from Two-9, and Njomza. To get you more familiar with the wave before you dive in head first with the project, check out Two Fresh’s “Still Got It” featuring SaveMoney representatives Joey Purp and Vic Mensa.
French Montana and Fetty Wap deliver their joint mixtape, Coke Zoo. The tape features 13 tracks, with appearances from Chris Brown, Puff Daddy, Lil Durk and Monty, as well as production from The Mekanics, Peoples and AK47. The collaborative project was recorded while French and Fetty were on the road together, during Chris Brown’s “One Hell of a Nite” over the summer.
Soulection stalwart and purveyor of all things progressive Mr. Carmack didn’t so much fire off his new single “Oye Como Va” as he did gently set it into the digital ocean and wish it bon voyage. The new track is gorgeous in all of its laid back ease. While it doesn’t take much from the classic Santana recording of the same name, it does carry plenty of latin flavor, coasting easy on a sumptuous piano loop, dry drums and a bass that punches in all the right places. Carmack keeps coming up with ways to draw the neo R&B sound backward, into a past when live instrumentation and that beautiful music tactic known as “space” were given and assured. Listen to “Oye Como Va,” and be sure to check out Mr. Carmack on tour this fall.

Today, we’re getting another dose of that west coast funk from Snoop Dogg with the new cut “Sho You Right”, sharing the mic with his cousin Daz Dillinger and the ever prolific Dam-Funk providing a relentless, yet ultra-smooth bass and synth-soaked production for the duo to get loose on. Most intriguing, is the fact that the track appears to be off of a forthcoming Snoop & Daz collaborative LP, tentatively, and aptly titled CUZZNZ. Hear Snoop Dogg & Dam-Funk extend the 7 Days Of Funk legacy with Daz Dillinger above, and if you’re still itching for the glitzy sonics of west coast nostalgia, try your ear on Dam’s latest masterpiece Invite The Light, which is available to purchase on iTunes today.

“Which Side Are You On” is the third single to be released off of Talib Kweli’s new compilation disc, thanks in large part to the production tactics of Nottz. Lyrically, both Tef Poe dishes out relentless bars decrying the mistreatment of black Americans, while Kendra Ross coasts back and forth atop each chorus, crooning out a borderline gospel chant. Listen to “Which Side Are You On”, and get yourself a pre-ordered copy of Indie 500 over on iTunes today ahead of its November 6th release date.

“I Got It” (DJ Spinna Remix) is the 3rd Remix from Vursatyl’s new album Crooked Straights. DJ Spinna and Vursatyl have been planning to work on new music and this is the first track of more collaborations between these two Artist. DJ Spinna couples his soulfuly funky and hypnotic bassline with the perfect selection of warm, scenic chords to give the remix a groove that sets the perfect vibe to ride and/or vibe to non-stop. “I Got It” (DJ Spinna Remix) sets the tempo for much more of that magnetic, soulful Hip-Hop that Vursatyl is increasingly coming with on a regular.
