Earl Sweatshirt lets loose the Shaolin-reminiscent heat of this new joint “45.” The spry spitter has got some bass in his voice, ripping a grizzly 16 bars over a track that wreaks of classic Bobby Digital, but could very well actually be a deceptively deep scrap track from Alchemist. Stream “45” down below and keep it locked for the next loosie from young Earl.
Tyler, the Creator‘s latest shenanigan sees the rapper freestyle over OG Maco’s “U Guessed It” instrumental. Taking to LA Leakers’ #LIFTOFF mixshow on Power 106, the OFWGKTA honcho flexes his absurd approach to rap, kick starting the freestyle admitting that he needs to urinate before spitting over four topics fed to him by the host: grandmas, pregnant girls, bacon and groupies. Listen to the freestyle above and look for Tyler, the Creator in a town near you as he’s set to hit the road next month on a small tour across the U.S.
Ahead of Odd Future‘s upcoming supporting gig for Eminem at Wembley Stadium, MellowHype has dropped its latest mixtape, INSA. The first proper MellowHype drop since 2012′s Numbers and the duo’s first mixtape since MELLOWHYPEWEEK, INSA clocks in at 11 tracks in all and includes the cut “I Am A,” which can be streamed or downloaded above..
Burgeoning Oregon-born director Lije Sarki introduces a neat coming-of-age tale in the form of a short film, casting some of L.A.’s it-crowd for “BELONG.” The short tells the story of a young skater who, when bullied on a lone journey, continues to aimlessly pursue his passion, resulting in the discovery of his true niche. Even though skateboarding is now arguably the choice activity for this current young generation, it still retains a certain appeal amongst misfits. Sarki tapped soundscape specialist Left Brain to score the clip, while the likes of Lui Elliot, Jacob Messex, and Cash Mathieu all star as skaters. Enjoy the film above.
Having just blessed us with the Pharrell-scored track “Burgundy” just a few days ago, Earl Sweatshirt releases yet another tune from his forthcoming debut LP Doris. Titled “Sunday,” the Californian emcee enlists fellow Odd Future vocalist and Grammy Awards winner Frank Ocean as the two spit a pair of introspective verses. While Earl speaks on a lost love and its frustrations, Ocean raps about his club fight with “retired” crooner Chris Brown. Doris drops August 20th.
Some year-and-a-half after its initial release on 2011′s Purple Naked Ladies, Odd Future has released the official visual accompaniment to The Internet‘s track “Lincoln.” Directed by Etienne Maurice and Rob Haffey with cinematography by Mike Koziel, the piece stars the track’s featured guests, Mike G and Left Brain, as the girl-stealing Jack F. and vengeful pimp Big Daddy, respectively. Illustrating why you don’t “roll through the ghetto in a Lincoln Continental,” especially after picking up Big Daddy’s girl, Honey, the video ultimately sees the pimp getting sweet revenge thanks to an intervention by two of his goons.
With the success of Wolf and the impending impact of Doris, Hodgy Beats seems next in line from the Odd Future camp to release new music into the world. Hodgy has just unveiled his newest project, which is simply entitled Untitled 2 EP. Topics for discussion are kept to girls, personal goals, and, of course, dreaming big, yet something seems immediately more refined on these cuts than in previous works. For reference, look no further than “Alone,” the minimalist opening track of the EP. The Untitled 2 EP is available to stream below.
Producing erratic, yet nonetheless enticing music, Tyler, the Creator is best known for his irreverent humor, a characteristic which has captivated the team at Mountain Dew. This second commercial, directed by OFWGKTA‘s head-honcho, stars Tyler’s alias Felicia The Goat and Loiter Squad’s Lionel Boyce. The short consists of Felicia driving past Boyce’s patrol car at speed and subsequently being pulled over. Fortunately, Felicia flees the scene screaming the catchphrase “You’re never gonna catch me!” and will inevitably surface again soon in another setting. Enjoy the clip above and share your thoughts below.
Tyler, the Creator, honorary citizen and Colorado native that he is, has been awarded Boulder’s “Key to the City Award.” Or, at the very least, he would have us believe such in the latest clip released by OFWGKTA. By now, we should all know how much Tyler, the Creator loves a good prank. The above video documents the 22-year-old Los Angeles native on the day before his riot-inciting show in Boulder, preceding his performance with another as he staged an entire ceremony dedicated to his ‘upstanding citizenship.’ Egocentrism is a huge part of Tyler’s humor, and irony comes in a close second, as underlined by this funny clip.

The fifth instalment of Odd Future’s Adult Swim sketch show Loiter Squad arrives today. Witness 11 minutes of continued horseplay, waywardness and tomfoolery from the collective. This episode includes an appearance from none other than Jackass star Bam Margera, who links up with L-Boy to do some trash talking, and Jasper Dolphin pays E.T. a visit in prison. Let us know how the show has progressed thus far and who your favorite characters are.
After getting punk’d by skater Bam Margera in the first episode of MTV’s newly re-launched “Punk’d” series, Odd Future’ Tyler The Creator is enlisted to play host for his own episode, turning the tables on other famous personalities.
While manning the “Punk’d” series, Tyler chooses boyband The Wanted, reality star Scott Disick, and and “Beverly Hills 90210” actress Shenae Grimes as victims. Disick gets his Rolls-Royce towed, Grimes gives away a stray dog to the wrong owner, and The Wanted is accused of kidnapping after a young girl somehow ended up in the back of their van following an interview.
In the brand new season of MTV’s “Punk’d”, skate pro Bam Margera takes over at host, and chooses Odd Future’s Tyler The Creator, “Jersey Shore’s” Ronnie, and Tyler Posey as this episode’s victim.
Bam and Wee-Man tricked Tyler into thinking he was going to a charity event for the Tony Hawk Foundation. When he got there, he’s hungry so they get him to turn on the grill inside a food truck, and shortly after, the truck burst into a ball of flames and one guy caught on fire. A shocked Tyler snapped whips out his phone to capture it on film, and the founder of the charity blames him for it.
Later, Ronnie (Jersey Shore) thinks his assistant is being held hostage at a liquor store robbery, and then, Tyler Posey is also punk’d.
After various previews and trailers, Odd Future’s Adult Swim-powered sketch-comedy series “Loiter Squad” finally premiered Monday night (March 26), giving viewers the randomness that has been consistent in their music and music videos since bursting onto the scene over the past year and a half.
Well, the entire first episode made its way to Youtube after the show aired, so here it is. It contains a slew of humorous skits … and, well, randomness.
Odd Future frontman, Tyler The Creator, is set to appear on an upcoming, new episode of MTV’s “Punk’d”, getting pranked by reality TV star/skater Bam Margera. The network has run a brief preview of how it goes down, but it looks like you’ll have to watch the episode to see what’s behind the prank.
In this short clip, Tyler is shown running from the scene after a food truck blows up, hopping into the bad of a pick-up truck.
The episode is set to air March 29 at 10/9pm c, when the show returns. It will also feature Rob Dyrdek, Miley Cyrus’ boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, Khloe Kardashian, and Taylor Swift.
Odd Future follows the release of their weird “Rella” music video, they drop another bizarre clip for their newest cut, “NY (Ned Flander),” set to appear on the upcoming crew compilation The OF Tape Vol. 2.
In the new clip, Hodgy Beats and Tyler The Creator appear as odd versions of themselves in a trailer park-esque apartment.
It begins with a bald-headed Hodgy awakening beside his baby’s mama. After downing a bottle full of pills, he heads into his filthy living room where he enjoys some full-figured women on the tube, before he’s interrupted by his woman who nags him (speaking in a different language) about being a deadbeat dad. After, she makes her way into the kitchen to feed their son.
Tyler appears in a high chair as a baby, spitting his verse while his mother feeds and bathes him… yea, it’s odd, pun intended.
The song will appear on the upcoming OF Tape Vol. 2, due out March 20.
Odd Future’s Hodgy Beats comes through with a new collective of music with an Untitled EP title, surely hinting that the music speaks for itself. The EP notes production from the likes of The Alchemist, Thelonious Martin, Flying Lotus and more. While we await a new project from OFWGKTA as a whole, download Hodgy Beats’ nine-track offering here.
Odd Future’s highly anticipated The OF Tape Vol. 2 is set to drop next month, so the Los Angeles crew is unleashing new material… the latest being a video for the first single, “Rella.”
Directed by Wolf Haley, three members of OFWGKTA (Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, and Tyler The Creator) let viewers into their “odd” world, pun intended.
The clip starts off with Hodgy getting a lap dance from a big girl in a dirty living room, before smashing through the wall and going ham in the street. Domo follows, playing bully around the neighbor, slapping random people and witnessing even more randomness. And, it’s Tyler playing clean-up, surfacing in a wing and sniffing a mountain of white powder, he takes over as a centaur.
Yea… we didn’t understand it either…
Last we heard, The OF Tape Vol. 2 is due out March 20.
Los Angeles hip-hop collective Odd Future hopes to continue their rise in 2012, and plan to do so with a brand new project, set to drop in the spring.
The young hip-hop crew recently announced an upcoming compilation, titled The OF Tape Vol. 2, featuring brand new music from OFWGKTA’s Tyler The Creator, Frank Ocean, Hodgy Beats, Leftbrain, Domo Genesis, Mike G, Syd the Kyd, and The Internet.
In support of the project, dropping in March, Odd Future will embark on a 10-city national tour (also in March) that will include a show and pop-up retail shop in each city.
Each concert will feature an exclusive viewing of “Loiter Squad” prior to the live action series’ March 25 premiere on Adult Swim.
The OF Tape Vol. 2 will drop March 20, via their own Odd Future Records.
Additionally, frontman Tyler is hard at work on his next solo project Wolf, the follow-up to his 2010’s Goblin. And, Mellowhype’s (Leftbrain and Hodgy Beats) Numbers is also in the works.
Tyler is expected in late spring, while Numbers will drop in the summer.
